JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Africa Travel Specialist / Senior Africa Travel Specialist
Responsible to: Founder
Start date: October-November 2024
Basis: Full-time
Office or home based: Hybrid; Cheltenham
Salary: £25,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience) + commission (£8k – £15K and above)

Company background: Coral Tree Travel launched in January 2021 as a provider of unique family safaris. The owners, Mike & Tess Kelly, identified the need for a travel company that specialises in tailor-made African adventures for families of all shapes and sizes.
Now, after three years of rapid growth, the company is looking to expand further with a growing team.
Job Purpose: In order to drive further growth and expansion, the Africa Travel Specialist / Senior Africa Travel Specialist will join the sales team and deliver exceptional service to grow sales and repeat business.
Job Responsibilities:
Sales and customer service (primary)
- Achieve a high level of conversion of Africa safari enquiries
- Establish client rapport and deliver an impeccable level of service to ensure repeat and referral business
- Take responsibility for the entire customer journey of each client, to ensure the highest standards of service are delivered during the sales process, pre-travel, whilst travelling and post travel.
- Create and deliver client proposals and travel documents that showcases the knowledge and premium nature of the brand.
- Ensure margin and profitability hit company targets.
- Manage any travel emergencies and issues within your own pool of clients.
- Drive new business development via existing personal network
Marketing and Product (secondary)
- Generate digital content for product pages, destinations, experiences and blogs
- Expand Africa product portfolio
- Work with DMCs to identify new and exciting product, alongside existing established properties
- Attend industry events
This list is not exhaustive and in addition to these duties and responsibilities the successful applicant will be required to carry out any other reasonable duties that may be needed from time to time.
Skills required
- A self-starting entrepreneurial spirit is essential in a growing small business
- Excellent communication skills, in person, via email and over phone/video call
- A relentless drive to deliver phenomenal customer service
- The ability to multi-task and ‘spin many different plates’ simultaneously
- Resourcefulness and the ability to problem solve under pressure
- Ability to prioritise effectively and good time management skills
- Good Microsoft Office and IT skills
Experience required
- Personal travel experience within Africa
- Knowledge of the Africa tailor-made safari market
- Sales experience
