Lake Natron Camp
A unique lakeside camp for an adventure in Lake Natron
Lake Natron Camp
Lake Natron Camp is a unique, ecological camp set in one of the most visually dramatic locations in the world.
The camp offers a variety of amazing adventures for nature lovers, such as hiking, swimming in the magical nearby waterfalls and walking to a set of hominid footprints thought to be almost 100,000 years old. Lake Natron’s algae-rich soda lake attracts huge numbers of breeding flamingos and an early morning walk from camp is the perfect opportunity to snap stunning shots of the thousands of birds.
If you’re feeling adventurous, Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano rises dramatically above the camp and, with some physical training, can be climbed. Alternatively, visit the local village Ngare Sero, especially their permaculture project and vegetable patch which supplies the camp.
Lake Natron Camp has 10 spacious tents with comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms and solar-powered lighting. The camp also has a natural pool, a dining area and a lounge with stunning views of the lake and the mountains. Lake Natron Camp is the perfect place to start or end your trek up to Empakei or begin your adventure in Northern Tanzania.
