An experience of a lifetime
Whilst you will be sleeping in the wilderness, your experience will be anything but roughing it.
Expansive double beds, private toilets and mosquito nets all mean that you can enjoy the mesmerising views in complete comfort.
Additional beds can also often be added to accommodate family travel.
Camps have worked hard to make sure that sleep-out experiences in Botswana are as safe as possible, with armed guards positioned nearby, communication devices, first aid kits.
Elevated decks also ensure curious wildlife don’t come for a poke around!
Most sleep-out experiences are for couples at the moment, however, more and more camps are accommodating families.
Some of our favourite family safari destinations in Botswana offer once-in-a-lifetime sleep-out experiences.
Kanana Camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta has a two-level sleep out deck a fifteen minute drive away from camp, overlooking the active floodplains.
Whilst the Makgadikgadi salt pans offer never-ending starry nights and spectacular expanses for families and couples alike. Meno A Kwena and Leeroo La Tau have some of our favourites.
You can do sleep-out experiences in Botswana during the dry season, which runs from April to October. This is the best time to enjoy clear skies, cool nights and abundant wildlife.
You should also note that most sleep-out experiences require a minimum stay of three nights at the camp, or you may have to pay an extra fee for a private experience.
Sleep-out experiences in Botswana are seasonal and limited, so you should book them in advance to secure your spot.
