Little Makalolo
An elegant, authentic bushcamp in the secluded south-eastern corner of Hwange
Little Makalolo
Few places combine authentic safari adventures with understated luxury as effortlessly as Little Makalolo.
Nestled in a private concession in the secluded southeastern corner of Hwange National Park, the camp is blissfully distant from busier areas. This sandy section of the Kalahari thrives thanks to a network of underground waterholes that sustain an impressive variety of wildlife, including large predator populations.
The main lodge is set in front of a bustling waterhole, regularly visited by herds of buffalo and elephants, offering front-row views of the action from the moment you wake up. Six elegantly simple tented suites connect to the main lodge via charming teak walkways through mopane trees, each opening onto a private veranda with stunning waterhole views. Families will enjoy the spacious two-bedroom suite, a raised swimming pool and a logpile hide – an ideal spot for evening wildlife sightings.
Beyond the camp, expert guides lead you through this wildlife-rich landscape on morning and evening game drives, with night time excursions available for spotting Hwange’s most elusive predators. For a unique cultural experience, families can visit the nearby town of Ngamo to meet the Matabele people, or opt for a night in the open-air starbed on Madison Pan for an unforgettable night under the African sky.
Little Makalolo delivers an adventurous family safari in a setting of refined luxury and comfort, perfect for families of all ages and tastes.
