Sava Dunes

Sava Dunes is a luxury beach lodge set on a ridge of undulating sand dunes on a remote stretch of beach on the Inhambane coastline. With its strong eco ethos and convenient location, only 1.5km from lively Barra, Sava Dunes is the perfect destination for luxury family safaris in Mozambique. 

Connected via winding wooden walkways along the pristine dunes, the fully solar-powered lodge features five beachfront cottages and one two bedroom family cottage. Furnished with locally made materials, the charming rooms have large wooden decks kitted out with a hammock, swing chair and a daybed, the perfect spot for whiling away the afternoon. The stylish main beach house has a split level dining and lounge area as well as a large swimming pool and swim-up bar. 

The lodge is set in a prime location for marine wildlife and offers incredible boat safaris. Spot Humpback whales, manta rays and whale sharks as well as sea horses, puffer fish and lionfish in the Barra estuary, a short walk from the lodge. Snorkel and scuba dive in nearby reefs, take a cruise to nearby Pansy and Survivor Islands or kayak amongst the Mangroves. Teens and children will also love the chance for a quad biking tour of the dunes and surfing lessons on the resort beach.
