andBeyond Benguerra
A stylish island retreat in the marine paradise of Benguerra Island
andBeyond Benguerra
Set in an indigenous forest on the beautiful Benguerra Island, andBeyond Benguerra is an authentic luxury island retreat only a short flight from most Southern African safari hotspots.
The island is located within the protected marine reserve of the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park and is therefore home to incredible coral reefs and vibrant marine life. The island is one of the last places on earth where the rare dugong, a shy creature related to the manatee and walrus, can be spotted on snorkelling and diving excursions. The island can also be explored by car, with options to visit the local school or the lakes and dunes on the northern side of the island, while horseback safaris are ideal for exploring the sandy coastline. Little ones are kept occupied by the WILDchild programme which tailors snorkelling and conservation activities for younger age groups.
andBeyond Benguerra is an intimate camp, set amongst swaying palm trees and enjoying panoramic ocean views. All of the rooms are set under local thatch and feature stunning tiled outdoor showers and private rim-flow pools. The three bedroom family ‘casa’ is a standout, with incredibly spacious ensuites, shared lounge and private stretch of beach.
After a packed day of marine adventure the wooden dhow beach bar is a welcome sight and private alfresco dinners on your own deck offer the perfect finale to your stay.
With its world-class marine activities and charming ‘casinhas’, andBeyond Benguerra offers a luxury family-friendly safari in a pristine island environment.
