Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp
An exclusive camp in the remote Hoanib River Valley
Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp
Wilderness Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp is a haven for intrepid travellers seeking a unique and luxurious experience in one of the world’s most remote locations.
Accessible only by light aircraft, the camp offers a breathtaking aerial approach that showcases the vast beauty of the desert. Its main area, complete with a sparkling pool, provides a serene vantage point overlooking a waterhole with the wide desert valley and Hoanib River beyond.
The accommodation comprises eight large tented guest suites, including one family unit, designed in perfect harmony with the desert surroundings.
For those with a thirst for adventure, guided nature drives along the narrow ribbon of vegetation by the riverbed unveil an unexpected variety of desert-adapted animals. Desert-adapted elephants, lions, giraffes, oryx, and more roam through this stark environment, offering unparalleled wildlife viewing.
Day trips to the enigmatic Skeleton Coast, with its haunting shipwreck remnants and colonies of Cape fur seals, are adrenaline-packed journeys outbound over the dunes with return by light aircraft.
This fully solar-powered camp is not just a sanctuary for luxury seekers but also a centre for research, actively contributing to the conservation of the desert-adapted carnivores in this harsh region.
