Planet Baobab
Colourful and charming camp in the Baobab capital of the world
Planet Baobab
A family-friendly camp which prides itself on offering a range of accessibly priced accommodation options – from quaint thatched Kalanga huts to a campsite shaded by ancient baobab trees.
Three family Bakalanga huts feature a central double bed, two singles and an ensuite, ideal for your family safari adventure exploring the salt pans.
The camp has a huge and vibrantly colourful central area that features a bar, a restaurant, lounge and a curio shop. The highlight of the camp is the largest and coolest swimming pool in the Kalahari, where you can relax and enjoy the desert scenery.
Planet Baobab offers a range of activities to explore the surrounding area and its wildlife. Depending on the season, you can visit the friendly habituated meerkats, walk among the giant baobab trees, quad bike on the saltpans, witness the zebra and wildebeest migration, or learn about the local culture and history.
For something different, you can visit a local cattle post and indulge in an alfresco lunch or, for the more adventurous, join an expedition to Nxai Pan where you can take in Baines Baobabs’ – the trees famously captured by the work of Thomas Baines in the nineteenth century.
