Sungani Lodge
A boutique lodge designed and built by the Davy family
Sungani Lodge
Sungani Lodge is stunningly remote, being the most Southerly Camp in the South Luangwa National Park.
Lovingly designed and constructed by a family with a passion for wildlife conservation and the local area, Sungani can be translated as ‘custodian’ from the blended Chichewa language. This ethos is evident throughout the seven spacious tents, each built out of local materials and displaying unique ornaments bought from nearby communities.
There has been no compromise on luxurious comfort however, with each tent offering nearly 1150 square feet of space in which to relax as well as a private deck with plunge pool with views of the Sungani Lagoon.
As one of the most remote camps in the South Luangwa National Park, guests will enjoy an almost exclusive safari experience. Take an all-day game drive through the local area to spot the elusive Roan antelope as well as four of the Big Five before enjoying a guided bush walk in the home of the walking safari.
Families can finish an exciting day with a memorable bush dinner along the banks of the Luangwa River, keeping an eye out for wallowing hippos, gliding crocs and baboons dangling from the trees above.
