Tena Tena Camp
An intimate tented camp in the exclusive Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa
Tena Tena Camp
Set under a magnificent grove of mahogany trees, Tena Tena Camp was the first camp opened by Robin Pope Safaris and has become synonymous with the remote Nsefu Sector.
The Nsefu area is the only part of the South Luangwa National Park that is located on the eastern side of the Luangwa River and as a result it has a remote and slightly more exclusive feel. Guests can enjoy private game drives around the surrounding lagoon system which is a magnet for leopards, elephants and lions or simply enjoy views of wallowing hippos and bathing elephants from the camp’s hide. The more adventurous can organise a fly-camping experience in Meru-style tents or take a guided walking safari through the Luangwa Valley.
Tena Tena Camp is a stylish yet intimate camp of only six tented suites, which are all generously-space along the banks of the Luangwa River. Every tent has its own verandah with a couple of comfy armchairs from which to spot the river’s frequent comings and goings. The front of the tent can be rolled up, allowing guests to enjoy the views with a cup of tea in bed. Sandy paths lead to the two-tiered main lodge where a panoramic bar is the perfect spot to enjoy a sundowner and trade stories with other guests.
Tena Tena Camp offers a perfect blend of stylish accommodation and panoramic vistas, providing an unforgettable experience in one of South Luangwa’s most exclusive areas.
