Kaingo Camp
An intimate camp located deep inside the game-rich Luangwa National Park
Kaingo Camp
Kaingo Camp, nestled deep in South Luangwa National Park, was deliberately not expanded to offer a more intimate safari experience ideal for families seeking an unforgettable wildlife adventure.
Named ‘the place of the leopard’ due to the frequent sightings of these elusive cats, the camp’s design focuses on maintaining an authentic wilderness feel, featuring just six chalets for privacy and exclusivity.
For families, Kaingo’s First House is the perfect accommodation. It provides ample privacy and comfort, featuring a spacious master bedroom with an adjoining lounge that can be converted into a second bedroom for children. The suite offers a private guide and vehicle, plus butler service, making it a personalised and exclusive option for families.
The camp’s star attraction for adventurous families is the Elephant Hide Sleepout. Here, you can spend the night in the treetops, listening to elephants pass by beneath the stars—a magical way to connect with Africa’s wilderness.
Additionally, Kaingo’s game drives and walking safaris are tailored to provide a deeper, more personal experience, with limited numbers on vehicles and expert guides helping families fully appreciate the park’s wonders. Twitchers must be sure not to miss the Carmine Bee-eater hide where from September they can witness huge colonies of these colourful birds establishing their nesting sights.
With its combination of luxurious chalets, hidden outdoor bathtubs, and private family suites, Kaingo Camp offers a perfect blend of adventure and comfort.
