Kwandwe Ecca Lodge

One of only five properties set in a 74,000 acre private game reserve, Kwandwe Ecca Lodge offers one of the highest land-to-guest ratios in South Africa.

The intimate, stylish lodge overlooks a lush valley and an escarpment of striking cliffs. Six light and airy suites include a large wraparound deck, private plunge pool and outdoor shower, all designed to maximise views of the surrounding wilderness. Three of the suites are tailored for luxury family safaris, including beds for two children under 12 as well as a dedicated safari vehicle, guide and tracker. The main lodge focuses on indoor-outdoor living with an expansive wooden deck, large rim-flow pool and open-sided main lounge where guests can dine and relax with views of passing game.  

The exclusive five star experience continues beyond the lodge, with twice daily game drives and walking safaris to spot the Big Five and the area’s healthy populations of the Blue Crane, the national bird of South Africa. The reserve also offers guests the rare chance to witness rhino conservation in action, helping experts to plant microchips and perform ear-notching to help them identify individuals in the future. With 19 miles of privately-owned river frontage on the Great Fish River, private fishing safaris are also a highlight.
