Shinde Camp
Tree-house camp nestled in the lush Shinde Lagoon
Shinde Camp
A captivating luxury safari destination in the heart of the Northern Okavango Delta. Surrounded by reed-lined waterways, expansive floodplains, and age-old trees, the camp offers an unparalleled safari experience in one of Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas.
Shinde means ‘tree squirrel’ in the local Bantu dialect, and as you look out from the enchanting main ‘tree-house’ over the lagoon you can begin to see why. Under the shade of ebony and mangosteen trees, the luxurious multi-tier living areas provide a welcome haven from the busy surrounding wildlife.
Once energised, Shinde Camp boasts year-round mokoro tours to view the incredible bird, plant and reptile species living in the lagoon. On land, Shinde offers an exclusive game drive experience with a maximum of four people per vehicle as well as personal camera mounts to ensure that magic game shot. Whilst the unique combination of habitats means there is a constant flow of varied wildlife, including the elusive sitatunga antelope and leopard.
Catering for luxury family safaris, Shinde Camp offers a custom-built two bedroom en-suite family tent sleeping a maximum of 5 people. And comfort is never compromised in the sophisticated tents, featuring ensuites with both indoor/outdoor showers, yoga mats and full solar electricity.
