Tafika Camp
An authentic thatched camp in the remote Nsefu Sector of the South Luangwa
Tafika Camp
Tafika Camp is a traditional owner-run safari camp located on the unexplored eastern side of the Luangwa River.
A family safari at Tafika offers exceptional game-viewing, some of Zambia’s best guides and exciting activities such as mountain bike safaris, walking safaris, visits to the local Mkasanga Village and microlighting in May.
The owners John and Carol Coppinger have lived at the camp for over 20 years, raising their own children here, and as a result the camp has an informal family-friendly feel. The 6 reed and thatch chalets are positioned along the Luangwa River and there is a spacious two-bedroom family chalet for those with younger children. The main camp is set around a waterhole which is frequented by herds of elephant, bushbuck, and several bird species, and guests can view these up close from two nearby hides.
Tafika offers one of the most diverse range of safari activities in the South Luangwa region. Game drives and walking safaris through the game-rich Nsefu Sector will delight more traditional safari-goers, whilst the opportunity for an afternoon mountain bike safari or even microlighting will suit active teenagers and adventurous young families. Guests of all ages will benefit from a trip to the local village, Mkasanga, where they can immerse themselves in traditional Zambian culture and tour the local school and church.
Tafika Camp is an essential addition to any luxury family safari itineraries in Zambia, with comfortable family-friendly accommodation, top-notch guiding and exciting activities.
