Savute Safari Lodge
Charming lodge perched on the banks of the Savute Channel
Savute Safari Lodge
Positioned along the unpredictable Savute Channel, this lodge offers an extraordinary vantage point for witnessing the dramatic ebb and flow of the region’s wildlife.
Twelve thatched chalets, built with local timber, accommodate just 24 people in this intimate camp. Elegantly furnished with neutral tones and natural materials, every room boasts a raised and expansive private deck as well as a generous personal lounge area.
For families there is a specially-designed suite with two bedrooms, each with their own ensuite and a conjoined outdoor deck, perfect for older children and teenagers.
The dining deck, firepit and large pool all overlook the adjacent watering hole, perfect for chilled afternoons taking in your wild surroundings.
You can embark on exhilarating game drives led by seasoned guides. Many trips will include a trip to Savute Marsh, an expanse of grasslands where Bateleur eagles and white-backed vultures can be seen circling and large herds of buffalo roam. Guides will explain the mystery of the Savute’s water flows, which some experts believe are influenced by tectonic forces.
The nearby Gubatsa Hills feature some ancient San rock paintings, which you can tag onto the beginning or end of your game drive.
