Jacana Camp
Water based camp in the ‘heart’ of the Jao Concession
Jacana Camp
A small and relaxed camp that was recently rebuilt in 2019. The camp is completely private, hidden on a tropical palm island in the Joa Concession, and for most of the year it is surrounded by water. The camp combines well with those that are found on open plains with land based activities.
The camp is a true water camp offering mokoro and walking safaris all year round. When the water levels recede they can provide game drives in vehicles.
From camp guests can see rare species such as red lechwe and reedbuck and hippos can be heard grunting. Birdlife is plentiful around the camp including saddle-billed stork, king-fishers and heron.
Each tent is on a wooden deck with private balconies and come with indoor and outdoor showers as well as an outdoor bath.
