Jaci’s Private Lodge remains at the very top of our list for a stay in Madikwe Game Reserve. Following a complete rebuild and stunning redesign, it has retained everything that made it so special, while offering an even more stylish and luxurious safari experience.

Uniquely family friendly, guests of all ages are exceptionally well looked after here. The owners built Jaci’s in the 1990s with their young children in mind, and that philosophy still shines through today. Beautifully reimagined safari suites include clever Little Expedition Beds for younger guests, while ‘jungle drives’ ensure children have adventures tailored just for them, allowing parents to truly relax.

Madikwe is one of Africa’s best places to see the endangered African Wild Dog, with sightings here the norm rather than the exception. Alongside the Big Five, exceptional guiding makes every game drive memorable.

Back at the lodge, elevated decks, waterhole viewpoints and the iconic Terrapin Hide keep you immersed in the bush long after your safari ends, while evenings around the boma are the perfect way to reflect on the day’s sightings.
