Mukambi Safari Lodge
A family-friendly lodge renowned as the ‘gateway’ to the Kafue National Park
Mukambi Safari Lodge
Mukambi Safari Lodge, located on the banks of the Kafue River, is an ideal destination for families seeking a memorable safari in this remote region.
The lodge’s family chalet, with two bedrooms and a spacious lounge, offers a comfortable retreat for families, while the luxury Riverside Villa provides added privacy and stunning river views from its large deck. Children will love watching the wildlife that frequently visits the lodge, including elephants, baboons, and even the resident wild cat Mauw.
The main area at Mukambi Safari Lodge features a central dining space with a lower deck for outdoor cooking, a clay oven for pizzas, an infinity pool with kids’ paddling pool, and a sunset viewing deck with a cosy firepit, all overlooking the scenic Kafue River.
Families can enjoy exciting game drives that set off from within Kafue National Park, offering opportunities to spot the region’s large populations of lions, leopards, and elephants. A family of leopards are often found having a kip under the camp’s safari vehicles! For a more relaxed pace, a boat cruise on the Kafue River allows for sightings of hippos and crocodiles and enjoying the sunset with a refreshing drink.
Mukambi’s commitment to community outreach makes it a truly unique destination. Families can visit the Mukambi Community School to learn about local culture and contribute to educational development, adding a meaningful dimension to their safari adventure.
