Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge

Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge is situated just outside Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park gates, in an enviable location overlooking the rainforest.

A stay here is sure to delight, as the 10 luxury bandas are all spacious, bright, airy and complete with stunning views out over the valley. Two of the bandas are deluxe and have their own fireplace to keep things cosy in the evening.

The communal lounge and dining area is extensive, with many secluded corners for private dining. Guests often congregate around the fireplace to trade stories into the evening.

The departure point for gorilla trekking is a short, five minute drive from the lodge, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day in the forest.

A stay here can be about much more than the gorillas. Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge are heavily involved in supporting the local community and established the award-winning Bwindi Bar, which provides hospitality training for disadvantaged youths from the surrounding area.

You’ll also be able to enjoy tea plantation tours, walks to beautiful waterfalls, and guided explorations of the forest trails. A short hike to the river below the lodge reveals a secluded pagoda; perfect for private drinks within the jungle canopy. 

The forested vegetation around the lodge is alive with birds and butterflies. A day spent exploring the grounds either before or after gorilla trekking is a wonderful way to experience this very special ecosystem.
