Chinzombo
An exclusive tented camp set in nearly 60 acres of private Luangwa River frontage
Chinzombo
Established by Norman Carr’s Safari, Zambia’s first safari company, Chinzombo combines unrivalled luxury with the best of a traditional bush safari camp.
The six luxury safari tents are designed with families in mind, offering spacious interiors and private pools that overlook the Luangwa River. Each tent features a large veranda, perfect for soaking in the tranquil riverside views, while inside, the elegant design blends natural materials with modern comforts.
Chinzombo’s main lodge is beautifully integrated into the surrounding landscape, with open-plan dining and lounge areas set on a deck built around existing trees. A cosy campfire area is perfect for evening gatherings under the stars, and meals are often served alfresco, blending the luxury of fine dining with the charm of the bush.
Chinzombo offers an unparalleled range of year-round activities. Guests can take bush walks to discover the area’s diverse flora and fauna, walking in the footsteps of Norman Carr who first pioneered walking safaris in Zambia. The camp’s dedicated guides will maximise guests’ chances of catching a glimpse of the Big Five and the park’s healthy leopard population with both day and night game drives.
One of the first camps to open during Zambia’s rainy green season, Chinzombo opens its doors from January to April. This is the best time to witness the arrival of migratory birds as well as spot hippos and crocs gliding past on a boat safari.
