Sasaab
Sasaab is the most luxurious lodge in the wild and remote Samburu region of Kenya. The property is located in the Westgate Community Conservancy, close to the Buffalo Springs and Samburu National reserves.
Sasaab is designed in a Moroccan style, which blends perfectly with the rugged landscape of Samburuland, offering views down to a nearby river and across the Laikipia Plateau towards the sacred peaks of Mount Kenya.
Accommodation is provided in nine individually styled cottages, each of which has been built to maximise cooling air-flow and make the most of the views across the conservancy. Four-poster beds, open-air bathrooms and private plunge pools all add to the feeling of safari decadence.
Activities include game drives in the nearby reserve, adventurous camel safaris and even fly camping under mosquito nets in the conservancy. The guides here are fantastic with children and can teach the little ones all about bow and arrow making and various other bush skills. For something truly epic, guests can embark on one of the signature helicopter safari tours to see the magnificent landscape from above.
Sasaab is run by The Safari Collection, who are known for their world-famous Giraffe Manor in Nairobi and several other camps in Kenya. The owners are a Kenyan family and they are committed to supporting and developing the local communities in which they operate. Sasaab directly and indirectly supports over 600 Samburu families in the local area.
This is a magnificent lodge in a stunning location and combines perfectly with Giraffe Manor and/or a stay in the Masai Mara.
