A private island off the coast of Zanzibar, andBeyond Mnemba Island offers something truly unique.

Few African properties are as evocative as the magical andBeyond Mnemba Island. Just 1.5km in circumference and white sandy beach all around, you’ll arrive thinking you’ve been transported to paradise.

The incredible team, many of whom have been here since the island opened in 1990, will make you feel welcome from the moment you step off the boat. Shoes are unnecessary here, as the impossibly white sand stays cool even in the midday sun.

You’ll be welcomed into your luxurious banda and be free to explore to your heart’s content. We always recommend a dip in the warm turquoise waters as soon as you can. Meals are mostly enjoyed outside, with a few special locations hidden around the island.

There’s plenty to keep your family entertained, with the in-house watersports and spa teams catering to your every need. Diving and snorkelling on the reefs around the island is excellent and if you’re very lucky you may see baby green turtles hatching, as the island has been running a highly successful conservation program for these endangered creatures for years.

Mike, our co-founder, lived and worked here for five years – two of those with Tess – so it’s a place of many happy memories for us. We’d love to share it with you.
