Cathedral Peak Hotel
A long-established oasis in a secluded valley of the Drakensberg mountains
Cathedral Peak Hotel
This well-managed and long-established hotel has been run by the same family for the last 80 years.
The care and attention put into the running of it is evident in the service provided and the wonderful way in which families are welcomed here. The hotel is large and laid out in such a way that you can all be together enjoying walking, swimming horse riding or cycling. Alternatively, find a spot that takes your fancy and do your own thing.
Cathedral Peak Hotel is very much a destination in itself, and we would recommend at least 3 nights here. The Drakensberg Mountains (a World Heritage Site) are a mecca for outdoor activity enthusiasts, and here you can take your pick from golf, cycling, quad biking, tennis, fishing, and much more besides.
There are no fewer than 18 different walking trails available from the hotel, and therefore something for all abilities, and attention spans! These walks can be self-guided, or, someone can accompany you along the way.
If viewing the scenery from the ground gets too pedestrian, scenic helicopter flights can be arranged to really appreciate the dramatic scenery all around you. Once back at the hotel, there is beach volleyball available, as well as a children’s playground, a mini-golf course and a climbing tower, to name a few.
Meal times can be flexible, and there are babysitters on hand to help out with childcare if needed,
