Uplands Homestead

Uplands Homestead is one of a few accommodation options in the famed Kwandwe Game Reserve, which is a haven for rhino conservation.

Uplands is the most characterful of the villas on the reserve, and sleeps a family of up to six very comfortably. Each suite has its own private veranda and is en-suite, and this with the large communal living area means a very versatile living space for a family.

Immaculately manicured lawns surround the lovely building, which then give way to the more wild bush beyond. The full-sized swimming pool is a great place to while away an afternoon, or to cool off over lunch time in between activities. 

Extremely easy to get to as part of a Cape Town and Garden Route itinerary, a stay at Uplands Homestead is a wonderful base for a special South Africa family safari.

As well as daily game drives, there are some specialist safari excursions that are bookable in advance, such as photographic safaris, rhino conservation safaris, and a rhino monitoring drive.

Each family will doubtless have its own aims for a safari, and its own sense of adventure, and the staff at Uplands (and Kwandwe as a whole) are masters at crafting a day unique to each family.

There are activities to suit every sense of adventure, and with timings completely flexible, you can shape these as you wish. Little ones on a kids safari can look forward to scavenger hunts, junior fishing trips, cooking lessons, sand art, African bedtime stories, and much else besides.
