Duba Explorers Camp
Elegant tents and diverse game viewing in the wildlife-rich Duba Plains Concession
Duba Explorers Camp
Duba Explorers Camp is a safari camp built for wildlife enthusiasts, located on an island in the northern part of the Duba Plains Concession, a 33,000 hectare private reserve in the Okavango Delta. The camp is surrounded by a pristine permanent floodplain that attracts a variety of animals and birds.
Duba Explorers Camp has four expedition-style tents, each with a raised deck, writing desk, private veranda and an ensuite bathroom. The tents are stylishly furnished and designed by National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence Dereck and Beverly Joubert, who have captured the spirit of exploration in their design choices.
Explore the Ngoga River system by traditional mokoro canoe and with over 400 resident bird species the birding opportunities are unrivalled. Little ones can take part in the Young Explorers’ Programme, learning bush survival skills and learning about local communities.
Game drives take place day and night or on foot and the views change by season. The vast plains emerge during the dry season so you can see zebras, kudu and wildebeest galore, whilst the wet seasons’ floods bring a unique aquatic ecosystem. A healthy year-round population of herbivores including elephants, lechwe and buffalo ensures lots of regular sightings of lions and wild dogs’ hunting.
